Internship for refugees

As part of the "Integration" science initiative, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL) in Leipzig offers refugees the opportunity for an internship. A key interest here is to encourage intensive exchange between refugees and IfL employees and thus make a contribution to social integration. At the same time, the internship should serve to increase future opportunities for refugees in the job market and for vocational training.

IfL is a non-university research institute with currently around 80 employees and is a member of the Leibniz Association. It is institutionally funded by the Free State of Saxony and the Federal Republic of Germany as part of joint research funding.

  • insights into the work of IfL and professional exchange with the staff of the institute
  • ability to work independently, support for further qualification and implementation of your own ideas
  • flexible work hours, good work atmosphere and highly motivated project teams
  • an expense allowance of 130 euros per month
  • the internship lasts up to three months

Requirements:

  • immigrant status, i.e. asylum seeker, temporary status, asylum-entitled or recognized refugee
  • interest in geographic topics
  • German and/or English language skills
