Digital portrait archive

In the three-year DigiPortA project nine archives of the Leibniz Association have digitised their portrait collections. Since 2015 the portraits are accessible for everyone on the web.

About 1,300 portraits originate from the IfL collections. Most of them date from the 19th and 20th century. Particularly interesting from a historical perspective are photographs showing geographers on excursions, expeditions or field research. Digital portrait collection

The portrait images from the IfL collections are also searchable in the catalogue of the Central Geographical Library. Online catalogue
