The press office of the IfL informes the media about research findings, current events and new publications of the Institute. News, contact details and materials such as corporate brochures, annual reports, photos, etc. can be downloaded here

If you wish to receive our press releases regularly by e-mail, please send us a message to presse(at) We are happy to add you to our mailing list.

The Internet portal for atlases and atlas cartography provides continually updated information as well as direct access to the Institute´s cartographic web offers. In addition, approximately 2,000 maps of the German National Atlas are available. Journalists can use the maps for illustrating complex spatial issues and developments for their readers or viewers.
