Guests at the IfL

As part of the IfL Research Fellowship Programme, guests from Hungary and Romania are currently joining the project group "Postmigrant City"

Dr Tünde Virág from the Center for Economic and Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences deals with the question of how institutional environment, planning processes and local and national policies influence the transformation of shrinking cities in post-socialist countries. Dr Nikola A. Venkov from the Center for Advanced Studies in Sofia, Bulgaria, uses his stay in Leipzig for literature research on conviviality and multiculturalism and discussions of appropriate approaches with the project group. Show details

Within the Dealing with diversity on the margins of the postmigrant city project the IfL researchers Karin Wiest, Madlen Pilz and Elisabeth Kirndörfer want to find out how everyday life is experienced and negotiated in certain transcultural settings and how local policy and media discourses are dealing with the realities of a postmigrant society.
